Roles and permissions
Owner, Administrator, Dispatch Manager, and Driver—what each role can see and change.
4 min read
Shipora uses role-based access so dispatch staff see what they need without exposing billing, integrations, or payment connection details to everyone.
Role summary
Owner — Full control: business settings, integrations, billing fields, staff, and all dispatch operations.
Administrator — Same as Owner for operations and configuration, except creating a brand-new business via API.
Dispatch Manager — Day-to-day dispatch: orders, routes, drivers, assignments, inbox. Cannot change org settings, integrations, notification templates, or driver-app JSON config.
Driver — Mobile app only: assigned orders, route tab, messaging, proof of delivery, and location updates while on duty.
Sensitive fields
Dispatch Managers and drivers receive a redacted business profile—payment tokens, subscription tier, and Square app identifiers are hidden. Owners and Administrators see the full record.
Reports and inbox
Reports (such as driver tips) are available to Owners and Administrators. Dispatch Managers can use the driver inbox and order messaging but not org-wide report exports.
